On Saturday, BCCI announced the Indian squad that will travel to the United Arab Emirates to play the event of Asia Cup.

The board has decided to choose Rohit Sharma for the job of captaincy in the absence of the Virat Kohli who is given rest due to the immense burden in recent times and the imperative away tours of India after the Asia Cup.

It is shocking to think that the competition will miss the presence of the number one batsman.

The exclusion of Kohli can develop problems for India in the tournament because he took his team on numerous occasions in a match following their horrible start in the innings.

He also showed his versatility many times when he was given the job of carrying out a good start provided by the openers of his team.

The critics are raising questions on the decision of resting Virat Kohli made by the cricket board. They are asking whether BCCI really considers Asia Cup their top priority or not.

It is understandable that India will have extremely busy schedule subsequent to the Asia Cup but not including Kohli in a significant event of six teams for the preparations of bilateral series increased the curiosity of the fans.

Keeping in view that India and Pakistan face each other rarely due to political tensions between two nations, it is surprising to imagine that the matches between rivals will be missing star factor of the best batsman of the modern era.

India will tour Australia in November for 3 ODI, 4 Tests and 3 T20Is and New Zealand in January for 5 ODI and 3 T20I.

These two away tours are looking the topmost priorities of India before the World Cup since they have decided to rest their most significant player for the preparations of those appointments.

The leadership skills of new skipper Rohit Sharma will be tested in Asia Cup and it will be interesting to see how India will face their challenges in the nonappearance of Kohli from Asia Cup.

India will commence their campaign of Asia Cup by playing their first match of the tournament against the Qualifier at Dubai on September 18.

The much-awaited game between the arch-rivals will be played at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on September 19.
