The opening pair of Fakhar-Imam now holds the record of the highest opening partnership in the history of One-day Internationals after they surpassed the record partnership of Sanath Jayasuriya and Lahiru Tharanga which was of 286 runs against England at Leeds in 2006.

In the 4th match of the ODI series at Bulawayo, Fakhar and Imam stood out for 42 overs to get at the landmark sum of 304 runs. The partnership between Imam-Fakhar is also the record-breaking stand in the history of Pakistan Cricket after the runs made by opening pair exceeded the total of 263 runs which were scored on the 2nd wicket by Amir Sohail and Inzamam against New Zealand at Sharjah.

The pair of Imam-Fakhar is turning out to be a promising duo for Pakistan and with 3, 3 centuries already in their One-Day Cricket resume, they will be the players to look out for Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup.
