In the series decider at Headingley, Joe Root became the record century scorer for England after he surpassed the whole of 12 centuries of the legendary opening batsman Marcus Trescothick. It took Joe Root just 113 innings to get at the landmark sum of 13 centuries.

Joe Root built the partnership of 186 runs with his captain Eoin Morgan to take his side home in the decider. Root scored 216 runs in just 3 matches by averaging 216 runs per match due to his two marvelous consecutive not-out centuries. The English Captain was also granted the man of the match award because of his incredible run throughout the series.

England will walk on the field of Birmingham for the Test cricket having their morale high after a splendid 2-1 ODI series win against Indian team. England would expect from Joe Root to keep his sublime form going so he could carry his team to the Test series win against the number one side of the real form of the game.
