In the third One Day International of the five-match series between Sri Lanka and South Africa, Reeza Hendricks became the 2nd South African player to score a century on debut after he smashed 102 runs and remained unbeaten till the end of the innings. The century scored by Hendricks is also the quickest century scored by a player on debut after the player achieved this feat off just 89 balls with the strike-rate of 114.60.
Reeza Hendricks is among the two uncapped players selected by the South African selectors to test their team combinations ahead of the ODI World Cup. He got his name in the squad after his impressive stint with his domestic team Lions.

Reeza Hendricks was chosen as player of the year by his team Lions following his incredible batting performance in the Sunfoil Series. Hendricks scored the total of 648 runs and made three centuries for his team in the first-class season of 2017-18.
Missing the services of AB de Villiers whose shocking retirement was a huge blow to the World Cup preparations of Proteas, the South African team would be looking for an aggressive option in the name of Hendricks that could provide stabilization in the middle-order and keep up the pace of the game. Hendricks, on the other hand, would strive to prove his worth so he can keep his place prominent in the team ahead of the World Cup.
