Imam ul Haq news: Are Imam’s chances of selection in Tests strong now?

Pakistan will face England for the three-match Test series starting from August 5. 

The touring side Pakistan had reached England on June 28 and has been involved in the practice to prepare for the highly anticipated encounter. 

Pakistan Cricket Board scheduled a two-day practice match between the team to prepare players for the English playing conditions.

Imam ul Haq shines in the intra-squad match

Imam ul Haq played a spectacular knock of 74 runs with bowlers failing to get him out in the practice game. 

Imam ul Haq (74) turned out to be the third-highest scorer in the practice game positioned behind Iftikhar Ahmad (86) and Babar Azam (82) just.

Imam’s batting performances urges selectors to look out for him in the Test playing XI. 

Imam ul Haq has to compete with Shan Masood for a spot in the playing XI as an opening batsman. 

As Shan failed to impress in the intra-squad game after scoring only 12 runs, the competition between both left-handed batsmen arises for the opening batsman spot in the playing XI. 

However, Shan Masood in his most recent Test innings scored 135 runs against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi. The knock could serve as a testimony for his place in Pakistan’s playing XI for the Manchester Test.
