James Anderson is now heading towards the target of becoming the most accomplished fast bowler in 142 years of history.
James Anderson has taken 557 wickets in Test cricket and is just 7 wickets to away to surpass the Australian legend Glenn McGrath in terms of the all-time highest wicket taker as fast bowler.
There was an article published by Glenn McGrath for Daily Mail recently. According to McGrath, once Anderson goes beyond his total of wickets, he will remain as the most successful fast bowler in Test cricket considering the nature of the game nowadays and the amount of Twenty20 cricket played.
“Once Jimmy goes past me it will be interesting to see where he wants to set the bar. With the nature of the game these days, and the amount of Twenty20 cricket, I believe no fast bowler will ever go past him,” McGrath told in his article for Daily Mail.
Glenn McGrath is arguably the greatest right-handed fast bowler to play on the field of cricket and was famously known for his exceptional art of swing & seam bowling. He represented Australia for 124 Tests and took 563 wickets with the bowling average of 21.64.

It will be interesting to see how much time Anderson takes now to be recognized as the most successful fast bowler in the purest form of the game.
England will play India at Southampton on Thursday and James Anderson would be looking to reach the landmark in a little while so he could have his name on the top in the list of the greatest fast bowling marvels.
