Ben Stokes is likely to miss the Lord’s Test against India because the all-rounder is obliged to appear at Bristol Crown Court following his case of brawl in the streets of the city in September last year. Stokes has appealed against the court decision which charged him with affray and is all set to attend court in an attempt to free his name from the affair.

Ben Stokes has played a fundamental role in England’s win against India at Edgbaston by taking the whole of six wickets in the match. The scalp of Virat Kohli proved out to be a turning point of the game and it seems the wicket of Kohli would remain one of the most cherished moments of his career.

The absence of Ben Stokes will surely have an effect on the campaign of England team but with Chris Woakes returning to the squad after injury, England would be looking to maintain their momentum at Lord’s so they could exceed their lead in the five-match Test series.
