Another milestone makes its way in the record book of Joe Root as the Englishman became the fastest batsman to score 6000 Test runs in terms of time taken. It took him only 5 years and 231 years to outright the mark of 6000 runs. Root achieved this feat against India in the 1stĀ innings of the Edgbaston Test match.
Root had a sterling start to this Test series but the problem of his conversion rate continues as he ran himself out on 80 at the closing session of the dayās play. In last 11 innings, Root crossed the mark of 50+ for 7 times but on all occasions, he failed to convert his double figured tally to triple figures.
